CityMall opens in three provincial cities
CityMall retail centers have opened in three cities in the Negros Occidental province – Kabankalan, San Carlos and Victorias.
They are run by CityMall Commercial Centers, a subsidiary of Double Dragon Properties. Leading the official openings were Double Dragon Properties president Ferdinand Sia along with Herson Sy, the grandson of SM founder Henry Sy, who was representing his father Herbert Sy, vice-chairman of SM Markets, Food and Retail Group.
Also in the official party were Victorias mayor Francis Frederick Palanca, and SM Shoes and Bags head Eugene Saw and assistant VP/regional manager Rocky Gomez. Palanca says the occasion was special for Victorias as it is the first mall to open in the city.
Along with the mall openings, the ceremonies in Kabankalan and Victorias marked the launch of Simply Shoes.
“We are very happy to open our 22nd store in the Philippines, and the third in Negros Occidental, after launching just two years ago,” says Simply Shoes assistant VP Elizabeth Nathalia Tinio. Carrying SM brands, the store aims to introduce shoes to Filipino communities where SM does not have a presence.
