Les Nereides Paris opens in Philippines
French jewellery design house Les Nereides Paris has opened its first store in the Philippines, at Greenbelt 3, Makati City.
The official Philippine distributors include restaurateurs Peejay and Anne Yambao, hoteliers Arthur and Martha King, jewellery designers Kristine Dee and Paul Syjuco, and Ninoy Roco. They marked the opening with a private viewing party at Sala Bistro for Manila-based clients.
Designed in France, each piece is handcrafted from malleable brass gilded with 14k fine gold.
Founded in 1980 by Pascale and Enzo Amaddeo, Les Nereides is inspired by nature and animals. The name was inspired by the Nereids of Greek mythology, the 40 sea nymph daughters of Nereus, the Old Man of the Sea.
For the inaugural collection of bracelets, earrings and necklaces, the local team chose about 350 designs from the Les Nereides portfolio. The Philippines is the 40th country to have a Les Nereides store.
