NRCE to look at future-proofing retail
“Future-proofing Retail” will be the theme of the 24th National Retail Conference and Stores Asia Expo (NRCE), being staged by the Philippine Retailers Association (PRA) in Manila on August 10 and 11.
At the SM Mall of Asia, NRCE 2017 will feature talks and panel discussions from industry experts including Rustan Supercenters CEO Irwin Lee. Topics include trends in retailing, branding design, the future of shopping malls, creating niche in diverse market, online retailing, fashion retailing, the impact of music in the marketplace, food retailing, and engaging millennial consumers.
Speakers and presenters include Filipino Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (Filscap) VP/TV personality/musician Jim Paredes, Zalora CEO Paolo Campos, Google Philippines marketing manager Gabby Roxas, and Springtime Design creative director/MD Chris Dingcong.
Two panels comprising upcoming retailers such as Apartment 8 president Sheira Lim, Sunnies Cafe finance director Eric Dee Jr, and Genki Sushi owner Eric Teng will discuss the new generation of retailers, and food retail as mall anchors.
New to the event is the Supermarket Track, dedicated to supermarkets and food retailers and involving discussion with the Department of Trade.
“This year’s event aims to create a deeper understanding of modern retail as well as open more opportunities for partnerships and networking,” says NRCE chairman Lorenzo Formoso.
Back-to-back with the conference is a retail suppliers’ expo featuring more than 100 exhibitors. The Stores Asia Expo is expected to draw more than 3000 visitors.
