Robinsons Place Butuan being expanded
Robinsons Place Butuan, one of six Robinsons Land Corporation (RLC) malls in Mindanao, is being expanded.
RLC says the move is to meet a demand for more dining, shopping and entertainment options.
The expansion adds 17,000 sqm for a total gross floor area of 59,000 sqm, while the gross leasable area will rise from 26,000 to 35,400 sqm. Soft opening of the expanded area is expected this month.
Opened in 2013, Robinsons Place Butuan is the only full-service mall in the region and RLC’s first mixed-use development in the city. Budget accommodation provider Go Hotels is one of the anchors together with Robinsons Appliances, Robinsons Bank, Robinsons Department Store, Robinsons Supermarket, South Star Drug and Robinsons Malls Lingkod Pinoy Center which houses satellite offices of a range of government agencies.
As well as shops and restaurants, the mall extension includes a land-transportation terminal, increases the supermarket area and adds two more digital cinemas.
RLC says construction of the bus terminal within the complex is complete and it will start working this month. It is part of the group’s plan to integrate a transportation terminal in all its malls. With 12 bus bays, the terminal offers an air-conditioned lounge, toilets, food kiosks and landscaped areas.
Meanwhile, Robinsons Movieworld in the mall will add more than 500 seats to take its total to more than 1800, including seating for persons with disability (PWDs) in all cinemas.
RLC owns and runs six malls in Mindanao, in key urban cities – Robinsons Cagayan de Oro, Robinsons Cybergate Davao, Robinsons Place GenSan, Robinsons Place Tagum, the new Robinsons Place Iligan and the Butuan property.
